Mountain Morning
During a workshop at the 4UR Ranch in Colorado, I had the opportunity to sketch one day while sitting on a wooden bridge over a small rushing river. This new experience of hearing water rushing under me for over an hour while I sat there drawing became etched in my memory. My painting "Mountain Morning" combines my love for birds, with the wild sound of a rushing stream. I never tire of watching the birds that rest and eat in my feeder at home. I like to use the photographs of birds I take from my kitchen window to develop sketches. Creating a composition from several different sketches is a process I enjoy.
