Florence Street Scene

I find that drawing and painting the human form is challenging and rewarding. Sometimes I develop compositions with multiple figures by first sketching the individual figures on pieces of tracing paper and then moving them around on a page until I find the best composition. Then I draw the figures on the canvas with chalk or blue paint and start layering on the color. It is this approach that I used for Florence Street Scene which I composed by using figures from five different photos I had taken during a bus ride through Florence Italy on a rainy day.
